Clicks Does Not Register When Customer Uses 'adform'
Erik Geurts replied to Fredrika's topic in Using Revive Adserver
You will have to ask either your customer or AdForm where to add the {clickurl} macro. -
Clicks Does Not Register When Customer Uses 'adform'
Erik Geurts replied to Fredrika's topic in Using Revive Adserver
Hi Fredrika, I hope you don't mind I moved your post to the right sub-forum. I'm assuming you mean AdForm, the Scandinavian firm? You will have to ask them if their system supports third party click tracking. If it does, then at the place they indicate in their tags, insert the click macro for Revive Adserver, which is: {clickurl} Also make sure you select "Do not alter HTML" in the box below the field where you enter their ad tag. -

Can No Longer Log Into Our Adserver Logins
Erik Geurts replied to aptrouble's topic in Managing Revive Adserver
Either your server crashed, or your host updated the PHP version on the server, which is not compatible with the old OpenX Source. I recommend contacting your host first. Ask them to check if the server health is OK, and ask them about anything they did in terms of software upgrades of the OS. -
Hi xtech, Just have a look at my company's website http://www.reviveservers.com/ , we would be happy to help you out! Regards, Erik

Maintenance Not Running - Error In Debug.log
Erik Geurts replied to JaySchoolzine's topic in Managing Revive Adserver
Please upgrade to the most recent version of Revive Adserver first. You can find the download link here: http://www.revive-adserver.com/download/ Instructions for upgrading here: http://www.revive-adserver.com/support/upgrading/ -
It will work almost perfectly, in almost all situations. We are, however, considering ways to make the delivery of contract campaigns even better. See also https://github.com/revive-adserver/revive-adserver/issues/319 I was just curious why you use priority 10? Priority 5 (default) should work just fine.

Single Page Call In Php ?
Erik Geurts replied to checkad's topic in Performance, Scalability, and Reliability
Hi Addev, I'm the author of that article, thanks for referring to it. I'm afraid this is only available as a client-side method (javascript), which is also the only place where it really makes sense. Local mode is a method where your ad server and your site are on the same server, and then the ad calls are processed by your site's PHP code, which makes it extremely fast. Of course, if you want to go even faster, you are welcome to develop a version of single page call that would work in local mode, i.e. server-side. Regards, Erik Geurts -

I don't agree with trying to sell a plugin for a feature that already exists in the core project (as described by Andrew recently).

Looking To Upgrade Due To Traffic
Erik Geurts replied to devpaq's topic in Performance, Scalability, and Reliability
My company offers Revive Adserver hosting, just have a look at http://www.reviveservers.com If you migrate to us, we'll work together to make sure all your existing campaign data and statistics come along for the ride, and once it's on our platform, we'll do the upgrade for you (and all future upgrades). No charges for the migration, nor for the upgrades, that's all included in the price. And once you're on board, our team will take care of everything related to the hosting, all you have to do is manage your campaigns and site(s). And all of our hosting customers get the Dashboard plugin free of charge. Just fill out the form at http://www.reviveservers.com/revive-adserver-hosting/ to contact us, and will be in touch with details about pricing and other practical items. -
Have you checked if the server meets all technical requirements? http://www.revive-adserver.com/support/requirements/

Andrew's suggestion is exactly how we do things on my company's hosting platform, you can see a simplified diagram of that setup here: http://www.reviveservers.com/revive-adserver-hosting/revive-adserver-hosting-platform-and-technology/- 4 replies

Recovering Or Resetting Admin Password For Openads 2.0?
Erik Geurts replied to YFAdmin's topic in Managing Revive Adserver
I'm sorry, but OpenAds 2.0 does not have a password recovery feature. Do you know how to access the MySQL database that is associated with this installation? There is a table in there called x_config (with x_ being your own table name prefix). In that table there is probably just one record, and one of the fields in the record is called "admin_pw". That field contains the MD5 hash of your password. Just come up with a new (secure!) password, then use http://hash.online-convert.com/md5-generator to generate the MD5 hash of that new password and paste it into the admin_pw field. I haven't tested it myself, but this should enable you to set your password again. By the way, have you considered upgrading to Revive Adserver 3.0.x? With OpenAds 2.0, you are about a decade behind... -
A simple work around would be to just create more than one 'advertiser' entries, which would then be acting as your folders. The numbers of all campaigns associated with one advertiser will automatically be summed.

Appnexus Banners Won't Load & Need Consultant
Erik Geurts replied to MN_JSmith's topic in Using Revive Adserver
Hi there, When you say "it doesn't appear to load", what exactly do you see? We're using a large number of AppNexus placement tags in multiple Revive Adserver installations, and it works just fine. We do not have a list of consultants yet, but there are several (including myself) around on the forums. See my signature for contact details. Regards, Erik Geurts -
Being hacked on your current instance of v3.0.3 is by itself not proof that there is a vulnerability. Unfortunately, we've seen many cases where people had their installation compromised a long time ago, and then just recently their system got attacked by someone using the credentials that were taken or created all that while ago. If you do find evidence of a security issue, please read this page http://www.revive-adserver.com/security/ carefully and follow the instructions there.
