Have you migrated to InnoDB? Or are you still using MyISAM?
-
You can ask the question as many times as you like, but the answer will always be the same: Review your web server documentation and logs.
-
That doesn't sound good, but obviously, without more details, I can't tell what you have done, nor how to fix it.
-
Let me Google that for you? ?
-
I would imagine that you can do this using an HTML5 banner?
-
Maybe you could provide some more information about what the URLs are that you are using to log into, and where it's directing you to, and what the web server logs show, etc?

Hi @w-sky,
Understood, but not much I can do about that, other than to suggest a different hosting solution!
-
Use the Site - Channel option.

It's not always possible or desirable to set the envelope sender system wide (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/24183058/how-can-i-force-the-from-header-envelope-sender-in-php-without-putting-it-in) in my view, Revive should be setting the envelope sender properly when calling the mail function.
Agreed. Please raise a ticket and https://documentation.revive-adserver.com/display/DOCS/Missing+Features ! Thanks.

Correct - please see the PHP documentation linked to from the page above re: how to set this.

Hi @w-sky,
Yes, I'm pretty sure this all comes from your PHP configuration.

Hi @vinay,
If you have attempted to upgrade Revive Adserver, but after you are completed, you cannot see all of your previous data, and it's just a clean and empty installation, then you probably actually just did a new installation, rather than an upgrade. This would be why your banner is not working from the new server.
I would start again, but after the transfer to a new server, check that everything is working on the new server, before doing the upgrade - especially if the new server uses a different URL to the old server - you will need to make changes to account for that.
Once it's working, then do the upgrade, and make sure you follow the upgrade instructions carefully.

Same answer as for the 500 error.

Ah, okay, I think this is a naming bug.
If you use the Site - Channel option, can you see the Delivery Limitation Rules from the Website(s) that the banner is linked to?

Hi @BaliDave - ah, that's probably the issue then. MyISAM only supports table-level locking.
Take a look through the MySQL documentation, and consider if upgrading to InnoDB tables is the right thing for you.
It's not a requirement for Revive Adserver, but it might be better for your needs.
-
Yeah, the most likely candidate is that it's a MySQL issue, rather than a code issue.
You are not using MyISAM tables are you, by the way?
-
Great, glad it's all working now!
-
Hi @Peter Symes,
Ah, excellent! Glad you got to the bottom of it.

Hi @tobean,
Interesting. Instead of "Site - Delivery Rule Set", is there a "Site - Channel" option instead?
-
Hi @Cavi,
Just to clarify - when you say you're getting ad tags from OpenX, do you mean the old open source "OpenX Source" product (which is what turned into Revive Adserver), or do you mean tags from OpenX (the company), and their commercial system?
-
Hi @Aygul,
So glad to hear that you're a long term Revive Adserver user, and that you have ideas for how to extend the system.
Unfortunately, our developer documentation is a work in progress - https://documentation.revive-adserver.com/display/DOCS/Developer+Guide - but it does have some good information on setting up a development system, which with a good PHP IDE/debugger, would certainly get you started.
Otherwise, one of the key things you could do to help us move forward with ideas like this would be to sponsor us on Patreon, if you are not already.
Thanks!

Hi @vinay,
If the upgrade was successful, then delivery of banners from the previous installation should continue to work.
Do you still see all the same advertisers, campaigns and banners in the Admin UI that you had before the upgrade?
Also, please check https://documentation.revive-adserver.com/display/DOCS/Revive+Adserver+Broken

Two other thoughts:
1. Turn on MySQL logging and/or turn up the logging level in PHP and the web server, so that you can get more information; or
2. Don't worry about it if it's not a big problem ?
-
Look at adding the necessary Site - Delivery Rule Set delivery rule to the banner, then select the delivery rule defined.

Ah, yes, the part where you come begging for help, and then, when I suggest where you need to look, I get told that the product is shit.
All I can say is that I don't have loads of people reporting this issue, I've never seen this issue myself, and you haven't given me a way to reproduce the issue - indeed, you've hardly given us any information at all - no setup details, no logs, no example server to review - just a complaint that it doesn't work, with little information, and some swearing.
All I can say is - best of luck with that approach!
