rahixccr Posted September 9, 2015 Report Posted September 9, 2015 Recently Geo Targeting for Revive adserver with GeoIP plugin is not working. Previously it was working fine. I have uploaded the new database GeoIP.dat file. But still it is not working. using targeting to a banner completely stop delivering that banner to all the Geo's. There is an update of GeoIP Database which is in mmdb format. How to use mmdb format in revive for GeoIP plugin? Quote
andrewatfornax Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 Hi rahixccr,Unfortunately, we haven't yet managed to get support for the newer GeoIP plugin format working for Revive Adserver yet. We're looking at it, and hope we can get it done soon. Quote
Matt Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 (edited) Hi,Does the GeoIP database in revive update automatically? It seems like ours stopped working at some point as well. It seems to still able to target countries, but anything at the regional level is not working. We're using the "Magic tags" plugin to do stuff like "Welcome visitor from {geo.region}" and now it's blank. In the meantime, is there any workaround? We have disabled these banners for now.In any case, count this as another vote from someone who is using the feature. ;-)Thanks for all your hard work on the system. It is wonderfulMatt Edited September 29, 2015 by Matt Quote
bocadave Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 wow... good post-- wish I read this before I spent 5 hours messing with this and also Ip2 location- -which doesn't work either It would help if there was a readme telling us what is working and what is not Quote

It is wonderfulMattNo - you can configure that yourself with a cronjob, if you want to, but that's all manual scripting.I think we only ship the free country database, and we do try to update that to the latest version with each release - but for things like regional level targeting, you'll need to go and get (and install, and update) the MaxMind (version 1) regional database yourself.
