angelfplaza Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 When I made a change on the adserver, it takes a lot of time to be reflected on the website. I can control website cache (is off) and browser cache (cleaned every time) but is there any type of cache on adserver? How can I clean it to make sure the change goes instantly to the ads. This is for the case when I have made a mistake with a banner and I want to fix it asap. Thank you Quote
Erik Geurts Posted July 8, 2015 Report Posted July 8, 2015 Revive Adserver has a cache mechanism which is set to 20 minutes by default. The reason is performance. You could decide to go with a shorter cache time, but generally this hurts performance or might even crash your server. Quote
angelfplaza Posted July 8, 2015 Author Report Posted July 8, 2015 I found the settings. They are on banner configuration. I need to change that now because we are on a dev site testing the code for the ads, so we need to be able to see the changes. I set 5 minutes and I will replace that in the future. 20 minutes is a lot if you need to change something on one ad. Any method to shuffle or clear the cache when a change like that is made? Any other cache method that can be used instead of this one? Thanks Quote
Richard Foley Posted July 9, 2015 Report Posted July 9, 2015 If the configuration setting is too short for dev. purposes, you might consider clearing the cache directories manually and restarting your server. angelfplaza Posted July 9, 2015 Author Report Posted July 9, 2015 Yes, that is a good idea. how do I clear the cache? Restart the server is not a good idea as the same server is the one serving ads to the production site. Thanks Quote
andrewatfornax Posted February 21, 2017 Report Posted February 21, 2017 The cache files are stored in Revive Adserver var/cache directory. Quote
