One Or More Plugin Files Couln't Be Located

I've upgrading openx many times over many years, but tonight whist trying out a test upgrade from OpenX 2.8.11 to Revive 3.0.2 I've been presented with an error message I've never see before:

"One or more plugin files couln't be located, check the install.log file for more information"

My upgrade workflow is very similar to that given at revive-adserver.com, create a new DB, copy over config, edit config with new DB name, check permissions etc, etc - nothing at all unusual.

Worth mentioning that a previous test upgrade from OpenX 2.8.11 to Revive 3.0.1 was successful, I know since there has been some tweaking to the wizard and its handling of plugins due to the disabling of plugins issue.

The upgrade wizard recognises an upgrade and proceeds normally until the penultimate stage when it asks for the path to my previous install, (I don't recall this field not being autofilled before - perhaps i'm wrong), I give the path, (the current working install of openx), proceed and the error message above is shown. Edit the path, (add a trailing slash etc), and the same error is shown.

The applicable section of install.log shows the problem:

The adserver is being installed on a dedicated server, currently running openx 2.8.11 with no problems. If I roll back the attempted install and try and repeat the same error is displayed.

A quick search for the *.xml I think the wizard is looking for returns the following results within the root folder of the version of OpenX i'm upgrading:

Before I start digging, or report as a bug, I thought it worth asking if anybody encountered this issue before.

Thanks,

Spot the muppet - holds head in shame - the wizard wants the absolute path to the existing install, not the path relative to the server root.

No idea why I was so sure the relative path was required, trawled through InstallController.php to discover my school boy error. Too much coffee!

Well, in my case, when using a cPanel based server, the absolute path was required.

Something like:

/home/cpanel_username/public_html/revive/

Of course just replace cpanel_username with your cPanel user account (username) and replace revive with the name of the directory of your Revive installation.

Years after I encounter this as I had the same issue. I expected it to be a path issue and this worked for me.

The old version was at https:/adserver.domain.com/revive

The new version was at https:/adserver.domain.com/revive-new

I tried absolute paths, relative paths but in the end I had to use a relative path AND designate the path starts in the folder above.

../revive

That solved the issue for me. Hope this extra message helps!
