Simple Redirect On Multiple Link

Recommended Posts

Hello,

We are using Revive Adserver to track all clicks on link of our partners. We don't need any display stats, so we aren't used the tracker image, we directly use the tracking links like this:

http://exemple.com/ck.php?zoneid=[ZoneID]

A zone has only one associated banner. Both of them are using text ads.

1st question
Do you think that this is the simplest solution?

2nd question
On the same logic, we want to redirect to different link according to certain criteria (For mobile: http://forum.revive-adserver.com/topic/517-how-to-display-ads-to-desktop-users-only/). We would have two banners with different limitations, and one zone.
In our tests, using the first link mentioned, nothing happens. What is the problem ? Do you know any other available solution to make it work ?

Thanks for you replies.

Hello Eliza,

Thanks for your reply.

The first question concerns the first part. Do you think that the way we are using the adserver is the best ?

We are using Revive Adserver to track all clicks on link of our partners. We don't need any display stats, so we aren't used the tracker image, we directly use the tracking links like this:

http://exemple.com/ck.php?zoneid=[ZoneID]

A zone has only one associated banner. Both of them are using text ads.

1st question
Do you think that this is the simplest solution?

The solution for your question can be provided, it is possible to limit the banner to deliver on certain criteria.

As I've said this solution doesn't work. For more comprehension, please find below an example :

Zone 1

We are not using default tracking invocation code because we are using intext link. For exemple :

<a href="http://exemple.com/ck.php?zoneid=1" title="My partner link">My partner link</a>

Banners

We have two banners using text ads, configured like that :

Banner 1

  • Redirect to : http://mypartner.com/Mobile
  • Deliver limitation : User Agent regexp match with :  Android|iPhone|iPad|iPod|Mobile|kindle|Nexus|Opera Mini|IEMobile|BlackBerry|webOS

Banner 2

  • Redirect to : http://mypartner.com/Desktop
  • Deliver limitation : User Agent regexp NOT matching with :  Android|iPhone|iPad|iPod|Mobile|kindle|Nexus|Opera Mini|IEMobile|BlackBerry|webOS

Theses two banners are related to the same zone defined in the begening (Zone 1).

The result

When we are clicking on the partner link, there isn't any redirect, just a blank page. If one of the two banner is delete or unlink with the Zone 1, it work.

I hope this example is a little more detailed.
