Adsense ads not displaying.

Hello - noob here so be nice!

So - I've added my advertiser, as Google AdSense and I've added my code from AdSense in the banner config box.... and there is a sample ad showing - so that seems to be correct.

Then, I've added my invocation code to my template.... and if I type "here" underneath the code, "here" appears on my website - so I know that is working... but no ads are showing.

I can't figure out why. I'm just trying to get my zones up and running - and displaying ads - we can fine tune things later, but I'm stuck at this first hurdle.

Any help gratefully received ?
