remy_php Posted December 12, 2018 Report Posted December 12, 2018 (edited) My customer wants to display ads on the videos on his site. To display his videos he will use a streaming platform (Libcast or Viméo) supporting VAST 2.0. But revive does not natively offer VAST 2.0. (From what he tells me) He spotted 2 plugins and asked me which one would be the most appropriate. But I don't know much about it. VAST Video Ads Plugin for Revivehttps://www.reviveadservermod.com/vast-video-ads-plugin-for-revive Video Ads plugin for Revive Adserverhttps://www.adserverplugins.com/advanced-video-ads-plugin-for-revive-adserver/ What do you think of that? andrewatfornax Posted January 16, 2019 Report Posted January 16, 2019 Hi @remy_php, I can confirm that Revive Adserver does not currently support VAST 2.0 natively, and therefore, a plugin will be required for this. However, the core Revive Adserver team will not specifically recommend any one 3rd party plugin provider over another - please speak with those providers that you feel meet your requirements, and evaluate their offering carefully as you would with any other purchasing decision. Sincerely, Andrew Quote
remy_php Posted January 29, 2019 Author Report Posted January 29, 2019 Hy @andrewatfornax, Thank you for your feedback. I advised my client on the "Video Ads plugin for Revive Adserver". Video Ads plugin for Revive Adserverhttps://www.adserverplugins.com/advanced-video-ads-plugin-for-revive-adserver/ My client also chose to work with LibCast to broadcast these videos. https://www.libcast.com/ For the moment we have a small problem because the plugin generates the vast2 by specifying the type "video/x-mp4" while LibCast expects "video/mp4". So if someone has the same need, I don't recommend this combination right now. But we are in contact with the plugin editor and libcast to encourage them to find a solution on their side. But that's our problem. I'll come back here to change my advice if we find a solution. andrewatfornax 1 Quote
andrewatfornax Posted January 29, 2019 Report Posted January 29, 2019 Thank you for the excellent feedback @remy_php! While the core Revive Adserver project won't specifically recommend 3rd party plugins, it's great to hear from the community when they do move forward with a 3rd party on how that has worked for them, so that others can make more informed decisions. Thanks again. Quote

The administrator who copies the url generated by the plugin lives again in libcast always has a manipulation to do. (and so he will forget it or make a mistake...) Quote
