NP Communications Posted November 17, 2017 Report Posted November 17, 2017 Hello, I was wondering if anyone could point me to the right direction for third party click tracking. When creating a HTML banner I place the third parties invocation codes in and then normally select from the list of companies to enable click tracking. I have gotten a new client that has provided me with a third party not listed. So when I run Revive reports, the clicks come back as 0. Is there anyway to track 3rd parties that are not listed? A plugin? Anything? Please advise. Thanks! Example invocation code from GTS: <ins class='dcmads' style='display:inline-block;width:300px;height:600px' data-dcm-placement='N7384.12341875.MEDICALL/B10811303.146585942' data-dcm-rendering-mode='iframe' data-dcm-https-only data-dcm-resettable-device-id='' data-dcm-app-id=''> <script src='https://www.googletagservices.com/dcm/dcmads.js'></script> </ins> Quote
NP Communications Posted November 20, 2017 Author Report Posted November 20, 2017 Follow Up: I saw some items about magic macros, though I am unsure of how it would be used in this case. I came across two plugins available here: http://www.reviveadservermod.com/third-party-tracker-for-publisher - though I have not heard back from their support. TYIA Quote
proa Posted November 27, 2017 Report Posted November 27, 2017 I am also running into this problem with a client. Tracking clicks through this method is extremely difficult and the clickurl tag doesn't work properly (if anything, it causes a spike in clicks). Any advice on how to counter or mitigate this issue would be greatly appreciated. Quote
proa Posted November 29, 2017 Report Posted November 29, 2017 Is there an immediate fix to these types of click tags I can implement to make sure they're reporting properly? Thanks. Quote
NP Communications Posted December 1, 2017 Author Report Posted December 1, 2017 .....bump..... 10 biz days no official reply :( I tried those plugin guys, their English is not understandable. They seem to claim the magic macros instead of their plugin but very hard to tell the difference. Quote
Josh Posted December 3, 2017 Report Posted December 3, 2017 Add this to your <ins> tag data-dcm-click-tracker='{clickurl}' More info about Revive macros herehttp://blackriver.to/2014/01/openx-source-revive-adserver-magic-macros/ More info about DoubleClick tags herehttps://support.google.com/dcm/partner/answer/6080468?hl=en Quote
