kcarter Posted April 21, 2017 Report Posted April 21, 2017 I'm in the process of upgrading from OpenX 2.4.9 to the latest version of Revive. I'm currently running PHP 5.2.17. I assumed that OpenX wouldn't support any newer versions of PHP, so I went to Revive 3.0.6, which is the last version that can run on PHP 5.2. From there, I would like keep upgrading as PHP allows to get to the newest version. How far forward can I jump with PHP with Revive 3.0.6? Is there a point where it will stop working? Can I jump to PHP 5.4.x without any issues? Thanks in advance for any assistance! Quote
andrewatfornax Posted April 21, 2017 Report Posted April 21, 2017 Hi @kcarter , I would imagine that 5.4 will be okay with 3.0.6, but yes, there will come a point where if you upgrade PHP too far, things will stop working. The good news is that should be pretty obvious when that happens - so keep your older PHP versions installed alongside the newer versions, and just change which version you are using in your web server, then check the UI. If it works, you should be okay - if not, then rollback to the previous version of PHP you had before, and go forward with an upgrade in Revive Adserver, before re-trying the later version of PHP. kcarter Posted April 21, 2017 Author Report Posted April 21, 2017 Thank you for your quick response! I'm glad to hear that 3.0.6 should function OK with PHP 5.4. It's a delicate dance trying to upgrade from this far back in the PHP lifespan. Fingers crossed that I can do it without having to roll back. Thanks again, Kim andrewatfornax 1 Quote
