iep Posted January 27, 2014 Report Posted January 27, 2014 Hi, I'm new to Revive (or OpenX), so please excuse the newbie question. When setting up a new site on which to show banners: on the 'website' tab after I click 'invocation code' I am presented with a page that says 'This page contains all the information you need to show banners on your website.' On this page are some js scripts for the site header and several 'ad scripts' for each zone. So far so good. However, on the 'zones' tab it is also possible to choose an 'invocation code' for each zone which appear to be completely different from the codes on the 'website' tab ... So which invocation code should I be using? Thanks Ian Quote
Matteo Beccati Posted January 27, 2014 Report Posted January 27, 2014 Please see this writeup from Erik: http://www.openxconsultant.com/blog/2008/09/single-page-call-makes-site-load-faster/ It was written a long time ago for OpenX Source, but of course it still applies to Revive Adserver. Quote
iep Posted January 27, 2014 Author Report Posted January 27, 2014 Matteo, >> Please see this writeup from Erik: http://www.openxconsultant.com/blog/2008/09/single-page-call-makes-site-load-faster/ Thanks. Although I'm not sure I understand the relevance of that post to my question. Am I to understand that the codes available on the 'web' tab are the old slow ones and the codes on the 'zone' tab are faster, or ...? Ian Quote
Matteo Beccati Posted February 7, 2014 Report Posted February 7, 2014 The one in the website tab will normailly be faster as you'r doing a single request to the adserver, whereas the codes offered at the zone level require the adserver to be contacted multiple times on a page in case you have more than 1 zone. Hope that explains it. Quote
tbobker Posted February 10, 2014 Report Posted February 10, 2014 For simplicity or if you re new, I would go with iframe innvocation code. Quote
