That error message is pretty obvious, I suggest starting by fixing the file/folder permissions problems that are being reported.

Erik Geurts got a reaction from andrewatfornax in Validate maintenance is running correctly?
That file is not designed to show any output other than what you saw.
You can see if it's running correctly when you log in as an administrator, go to the "Configuration" tab and the click "Maintenance" in the left hand menu.
If you have a cron job, and it works OK, it will say something like "Scheduled maintenance is running correctly."
The script is designed to run only once per hour. If you hit it multiple times per hour, it'll just ignore the rest.

Check your web server's error log, the cause of the error should be listed there.

Instead of renaming the files, I would like to mention the option to use symlinks.

Erik Geurts got a reaction from andrewatfornax in Please update the Upgrading Revive Adserver article
The upgrade instructions are correct , if you follow them and if your server meets the requirements, the path to the old version will be displayed as a default.
I will include a note in the instructions, though, to inform readers that it must be the absolute folder on the server (and also not a url).
Update: the upgrade instructions have been edited to include a note about the path.

There is no 'private version of OpenX'. Let's be sure to only talk about Revive Adserver on this forum.

You seem to have found a page about 'openx', which is something completely different from Revive Adserver.

Erik Geurts got a reaction from andrewatfornax in HTML5 Banner Ads
Revive Adserver supports the creation of HTML banners, in which you can paste snippets of HTML code. As of Revive Adserver v4, these can be as large as 16 MB (see https://www.revive-adserver.com/blog/revive-adserver-v4-0-0-released/). This was done to support those Flash banners that are being converted to HTML5 using tools like Swiffy. I hope nobody will ever make a 16 MB banner ad, by the way, that's just plain ridiculous.
HTML5 often consists of more than a long piece of HTML code (think CSS, JS and image files). There is no way yet to upload those supporting resources directly, but it is being consider for one of the future releases. You are more than welcome to contribute to that effort.

Erik Geurts got a reaction from andrewatfornax in Best plugin for geo targeting
The current version of Revive Adserver and the included geotargeting plugin do not work with MaxMind's GeoIP2, because MaxMind made their new product in a way that is completely different and thus incompatible. You can get the files you need from here http://dev.maxmind.com/geoip/legacy/geolite/ .

Erik Geurts got a reaction from andrewatfornax in Empty zone request beacon with lg.php
It's intentional, and it has been like this for almost 2 years now. Blank impressions are logged in order to have accurate forecasting for every zone, even if there is no banner displayed.

Erik Geurts got a reaction from andrewatfornax in Upload banners issue
Moved to the appropriate sub-forum (this is not likely to be a plugins issue, where you posted it).
From your report, it seems your server is blocking you from uploading files at all. Could be a security thing, but most likely it's an incorrect permission.

Yes, that's possible. See http://www.reviveconsultant.com/articles/how-to-dynamically-insert-an-affiliate-id-into-a-banner/ for an article about the basics of using dynamically generated parameters in your zone invocation code.

Erik Geurts got a reaction from andrewatfornax in Revive Adserver counting impressions when ad isn't displayed?
If all you are doing is 'hiding' the zone you do not need using a bit of CSS, you should realize it is still being rendered in the browser, just hidden. So impressions will be counted.
The better approach is to use a form of device detection and actually not render the desktop zone on mobile and vice versa. See for example mobiledetect.net

Erik Geurts got a reaction from andrewatfornax in Why can I link zones at campaigns and banners?
If you link a campaign to a zone, all the banners in that campaign that have the same dimensions as the zone will automatically be linked to the zone. If you add a new banner of those same dimensions to the campaign later, it will automatically be linked to the zone as well. As such, linking campaigns to zones is the most efficient, and I would recommend always doing that. No need to link the banners too.
However, sometimes you do not want each banner in that campaign linked to a zone, just one or a few specific ones. In that case, you shouldn't link the entire campaign, but just the banners you actually need, to that zone.

It may look like that, but please be aware that someone has been able to compromise your server and probably still has root access. Your issue may come back at any time. I would recommend changing all passwords.

Erik Geurts got a reaction from andrewatfornax in Monthly Script Execution Quota exceeded
I've never heard of a hoster limiting the number of times a program/script runs. And a maximum of 300.000 is very little. A "unique visitor" is not the best measure for estimating this (in my personal view, unique visitors is a meaningless metric in any event).
Just look at your ad server statistics (assuming you can still log in) and you'll probably see that there have been as many ad impressions as they mentioned. I would switch hosts immediately, however inexpensive they are, it doesn't seem they have what it takes.

Erik Geurts reacted to vali in Big discrepancy between Revive Adserver and publisher (only on Desktop channel)
    Hi,
I started using Revive Adserver 6 months ago. In this time, I worked with a lot of publishers..
Now I'm working with one publisher (I'm buying traffic both on desktop and mobile) and starting last month we have a big discrepancy between our impressions from Revive and their impressions. But this is happening only on Desktop channel of that publisher. The discrepancy for November was approx 40%, now for 1-12 December we have the same difference - 40%.
On mobile channel we have only 3-5% differences, which is okay..
They talked with DFP and said that everything is okay from them..
Also, DFP talked about a "difference in counting methodologies"..Can you tell me how Revive ad server is counting impressions?
PS: they don't count bot impressions.
It's huge this discrepancy, right? What should I do? Can you help me, please?
    Thank you.

Erik Geurts got a reaction from andrewatfornax in Flush the cache
It is not necessary to manually and/or automatically clear those cached files. If you want to do it anyway, it won't hurt from a functional perspective. Revive Adserver will just rebuild any cached files it needs, and that might slow down the application while it is doing the rebuilding.

Erik Geurts got a reaction from andrewatfornax in In iframe code, lg.php is not called. Is this normal?
No, this is not normal. The lg.php program logs impressions, so it should be part of an iframe invocation code as well. Or have you perhaps disabled impression logging?
